What is the program, where, when, and who is involved?
In 2024, the Son & Oscar Foundation installed a generator to pump water from the school well and later partnered with World Serve International to set up a solar-powered system for sustainable water pumping at Manyata Primary School. The project is managed by the foundation team with the support of local technicians.
Who are the beneficiaries?
The entire school community—students, teachers, and surrounding families- benefits from this initiative.
Why is the program needed?
Previously, students relied on unsafe water from a nearby stream or had to walk long distances to fetch water. This not only caused illness but also disrupted their learning.
What has the program accomplished?
-
Secured daily access to clean water.
-
Improved hygiene and reduced waterborne diseases.
-
Provided students with education on sanitation and health.
