From 25th to 27th December 2020, our Vietnam Foundation Secretary joined the students of the Faculty of Accounting and Audit, University of Economics and Law (UEL), and the Faculty of Computer Engineering, University of Information Technology (UIT) to observe and experience Moc the fifth, the volunteer campaign in which SonTa Foundation is the Gold Sponsor.
The core team of this volunteer campaign includes freshmen and second-year students. Despite their young ages, they organized the campaign professionally and safely in the context of COVID-19. The students raised funds, contacted the local authorities of Phuoc Ngai commune, did various project surveys to verify the difficult circumstance of the locals, and completed every task by themselves. Furthermore, they used the sponsorship from the sponsors to expand the biggest tasks such as upgrading the road, equipping the road with light bulbs instead of spending on the logistic. This act shows the respect of students toward the sponsorships and the goodwill on bringing the bests to beneficiaries.
In particular,
- 500 to 600 meters of the road that connects the communal health station with main streets were upgraded
- 17 light bulbs on a 1-kilometer road were equipped.
- The garden for Phuoc Ngai primary school was painted and upgraded
- New toys and bins for the primary school were created
- Poor families and lone elders were visited and gave gifts.
- 5 poor pupils received 5 bicycles and other poor pupils of Phuoc Ngai primary school received packages of school supplement.
- A festival for the children in the commune was hosted
SonTa Foundation always encourages young people to involve in social works to contribute their talents to society. In the future, we expect to cooperate with young people who aim to make the world better via social works such as the Moc campaign.
