2023 Initiative for Community Solutions Contest

Tháng 7, 2025

2023 INITIATIVE FOR COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS CONTEST

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence to Improve Education for Vulnerable Groups

1. Background & Purpose

As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly advances across industries worldwide, Vietnam is also embracing its potential. However, the digital divide continues to leave behind children in remote areas and those from marginalized backgrounds, limiting their access to quality education.

Recognizing AI as a powerful tool to address inequality, SonTa Foundation launched the 2023 Initiative for Community Solutions Contest, focusing on the theme:
"AI for Education Equity."
This initiative seeks practical, tech-driven solutions that can improve learning opportunities while raising public awareness about the role of AI in sustainable development.

2. Contest Overview

The 2023 contest provided a platform for Vietnamese youth (ages 15 and up) to design AI-powered solutions that tackle post-pandemic challenges in education, especially for underserved communities.

Submission Requirements:

  • Problem Statement: Analyze the educational challenges faced by vulnerable groups and how they relate to the contest theme.

  • Proposed Initiative: Present a clear plan including implementation steps, methodology, and estimated budget.

  • Long-Term Vision: Assess the anticipated impact of the initiative on sustainable education.

  • Format: Up to 3,000 words in Vietnamese, PDF format.

  • Optional: Include a short video (30–90 seconds) or visual materials to strengthen the proposal.

Contest Process:

  • Preliminary Round: Proposals were evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, and potential for impact.

  • Final Pitch: Shortlisted candidates presented and defended their ideas in an online interview.

Judging Panel:
Experts from the fields of technology, education, and community development.

3. Contest Highlights

From over 200 submissions across Vietnam, the judging panel selected the top three initiatives:

  • First Prize: 10,000,000 VND + commemorative plaque from SonTa Foundation

  • Second Prize: 5,000,000 VND + commemorative plaque

  • Third Prize: 2,000,000 VND + commemorative plaque

Selected proposals will be featured in SonTa Foundation’s online publication, offering visibility and potential partnerships to bring these ideas to life.

4. Looking Ahead

The 2023 contest was more than a call for ideas—it served as a launchpad to turn innovation into action. By empowering young minds, SonTa Foundation hopes to bridge the education gap and provide greater access to technology for vulnerable groups.

With the passionate engagement of youth nationwide, these initiatives represent a step toward a more equitable society—one where every child has the opportunity to dream, learn, and thrive.
