Initiative for Community Solutions 2022
Improving Education Quality for Vulnerable Children
1. Background & Purpose
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam faced serious disruptions across all aspects of life. In education, millions of students were pushed into online learning, presenting unprecedented challenges.
Limited infrastructure, lack of access to digital devices, and insufficient tech skills significantly affected learning outcomes, especially for vulnerable children. Educational inequality became more evident than ever.
To address these urgent issues, the SonTa Foundation launched the 2022 Initiative for Community Solutions Contest, focusing on enhancing education for marginalized youth.
2. About the Contest
This initiative offered more than just a platform for creative thinking—it empowered young people across Vietnam (ages 15 and up) to collaborate on practical, community-driven solutions aimed at improving learning opportunities for disadvantaged children.
Contestants were asked to develop and present innovative ideas that respond to post-pandemic educational challenges, with a clear long-term vision for sustainability and impact.
